Peace...

Father, Mother, God,

Thank you for your presence during the hard and mean days.
For then we have you to lean upon.

Thank you for your presence during the bright and sunny days.
For then we can share that which we have with those who have less.

And thank you for your presence during the Holy Days.
For then we are able to celebrate you and our families and our friends

For those who have no voice, we ask you to speak.

For those who feel unworthy, we ask you to pour your love out in waterfalls of tenderness.

For those who live in pain, we ask you to bathe them in the river of your healing.

For those who are lonely, we ask you to keep them company.

For those who are depressed, we ask you to shower upon them the light of hope.

Dear Creator, You, the borderless sea of substance, we ask you to give to all the world that which we need most.....PEACE.

A weekend of pottering...

...quite literally!

I spent a good part of last weekend out in the garden, filling up various pots.  It's a lovely way to spend a few hours, does one's heart and soul a power of good 😊

These plants are now flowering ~ I will have to take more photos to share with you as they are very pretty.

This bed is now planted up again.  Although it looks like there are still vast swathes of emptiness, I promise that there really are actual plants in the bed!  They are starting to poke through the soil now, so hopefully it won't be long before I have something to show you 😉

I'm really looking forward to seeing this little hypericum in flower.

I should have made notes on what varieties the plants are, but I completely forgot to do so LOL

I was somewhat surprised at the size of this fuchsia, especially compared to the other two (which I have planted in the raised bed in the photo above).  I'm hoping that it will soon start to put on some growth.

The houseleeks in this wall planter are really filling it now.  I do love this planter ~ methinks it will be coming with us when we eventually move!

A stroll around the garden...

...it's only small so shouldn't take long, but there is so much to take pleasure in at the moment that I find myself lingering 😊

This bed is somewhat a tale of two halves!  I've purloined half of the plants to put elsewhere but at least the area around the little nature pool looks okay LOL  Hopefully the new plants I recently ordered will be here soon to fill it up again.

Bluebells are just so pretty.  I can't recall actually planting any bulbs to be honest, I think the originals were most likely hidden in the roots of plants I was once given and they have been spread around the garden in similar fashion!

The new hydrangea, "Vanilla Fraise", is coming along splendidly and the transplanted geraniums seem to have forgiven me 😉

The mint just keeps growing ~ can you imagine what it would be like in an open bed or border!

This is deutzia gracilis "Nikko".  I rescued the very battered watering can when I was out walking a few years ago.

I think this is helianthemum "Wisley Pink".  It is full of flower buds and is looking pretty already.  The thyme alongside has tiny little pink flowers too.  I seem to have a lot of pink in my garden 😊

I don't know what variety this helianthemum is but it too is full of buds.

I love following the progress of this peony...

...isn't that just beautiful!

This is iberis "Golden Candy".  The flowers are very pretty and the colour of the leaves just pop out of the border.

I do love aquilegias!  This is "Winky", a double in red and white.  It is such a different shape from the "Ministar" in one of the other beds.

I have no idea what this aquilegia is called ~ it just made itself at home in the garden last year LOL

I can't wait to be able to get to the border hidden between the piles of rubbish!  We will be getting Richard out to clear it away soon, thank goodness.

The new border is all planted up now ~ hurray!

The houseleeks are looked after by the little cherub 😊

I decided to plant this ceonothus "Puget Blue" in a pot, as I'd like to take it with us when we move next year.

I can't remember which veronica prostrata this one is but the flowers are a gorgeous shade of blue.

I moved the chickens again LOL  Now they can keep their beady little eyes on what's going on all over the garden 😊

We fought the lean-to.....

.....and we won ~ although we were too pooped to party, to be honest!

I forgot to take any "before" photos but it was something like this cartoon.....only much, much worse LOL  As I mentioned previously it had become a dumping ground for all and sundry, and we hadn't even been able to see the door at the far end, let alone use it, for months!  We worked away at it over the course of four days last week; yes, it really did take us that long to wade through all the "stuff" 😲

Whilst not everything in the latest rubbish pile in the garden came out of the lean-to, we were pretty ruthless and weeded out lots of things that we no longer needed (some of which we put outside on our driveway with a "free, help yourself" sign for other folk to make use of 😊) or used.

We can now comfortably get from one end to the other!  It isn't really obvious from the photo, but we have three shelf units along the wall and now have everything stored neatly into plastic storage boxes.

I found lots of cleaning supplies, some part used!  This box now contains all my general cleaning liquids and wipes.  I try to damp-dust in an effort to lessen the sneezing and nose-blowing it usually brings on, and the Method all purpose liquid is ideal for the task.

I tend to bulk-buy the laundry liquid and fabric conditioner, as I order it online direct from Ecover, so I didn't tell myself off for those supplies 😉

This collection, however, is a different story!  I couldn't believe how many bottles of carpet stain remover and window cleaner I found 😲  I won't be needing to buy any more supplies for quite some time, methinks 😉

It was certainly a job well done, plus we cleared out the cupboard-under-the-stairs as well.  Everything now has a proper home and is easy to find.....and use, so I have no excuses now for a grubby home LOL
